July 8-12 BEGINNER: 9-11 division 9am to 12pm; 12-15 division 1pm to 4pm
July 22-25 BEGINNER: 9-11 division 9am to 12pm; 12-15 division 1pm to 4pm
July 29-Aug 1 ADVANCED: 9-11 division 9am to 12pm; 12-15 division 1pm to 4pm
Aug 5-8 ADVANCED: 9-11 division 9am to 12pm; 12-15 division 1pm to 4pm
Beginner: New to volleyball and are looking to obtain basic skills of passing and serving. Players in this skill set are still trying to be able to pass the ball over the net and trying to serve over the net but are not there yet. They may be familiar with the rules or positions, but will learn in due time. These players are able to pass the ball over the net proficiently and receive serves most of the time with success. They are working towards consistency passing the ball to the setter position. The player is able to serve over the net with consistency. These players know how to rotate around the court and basic knowledge of the rules of volleyball. Note: If you are planning on trying out for a middle school as a 6th grader, please sign up to attend the 12-15 Beginner session.
Advanced: These players are able to pass a serve consistently to the setter position and can serve (overhand of 12-15 division) consistently over the net. These players are able to set and hit as they work on these skill sets more and more. These players are well versed with the rules of volleyball and are also knowledgeable with positions on the court and rotations. These players can receive serves well and consistently pass to the setter position from anywhere on the court. They can consistently serve over the net (overhand for 12-15 division). They are able to set and hit well. They have good knowledge of the rules as well as positions on the court. They transition well and have good knowledge of offense/defense and substitutions.
